Okay, It Finally Happened

I wrote a post about someone who I didn’t know read my blog.  It was painful for them to read, although I think it was mostly about me.  It was about how I had changed, but the references to a particular person could not be denied.  I have learned my lesson and will be more discreet in the future.  It was not my intention to hurt them, it was written from a place pain in my own life.  It was written because I was in a lot of pain, it was about me.  I am sorry if it hurt the other person.  I will not make that mistake again.

That’s tough because blogging is about US but sometimes people don’t understand that and even when we’re vague they make an issue out of it. I understand why some people are totally anonymous.

Ouch. Hope the fallout isn’t too bad. Sizzle is right, we blog for us, but so many times it’s hard to take the ‘them’ completely out of the ‘me.’

I agree with the other two ladies: We blog for ourselves, but other people still get hurt by our true, unedited selves at times. I’m sorry hon.

I’m really sorry. I’ve done the same. (I don’t know if that makes you feel any better.) Falling right in line with the other fine ladies commenting before me.

So been there. From the really painful, full on, ugly fight with my family and sisters over my critical view of their religious and political choices that conflict with mine, to admitting filching a neighbor friend’s apples on a walk–and her emailing me that she read I took her apples. .. She was kidding, but I got stuck on {gulp} that some one from the ‘hood read my blog? Ack! The same ‘hood I refer to as vacuous trophy wives. She isn’t, but I got all paranoid that people would read the blog the wrong way. As more and more friends come out of the woodwork to admit they read my blog (my husband is usually the source since HE IS NOT DISCREET with his blog and links to mine), I’ve learned to edit and hold my tongue a lot more because as we agree, blogs are about us, too often people read between the lines, assume we refer to them in the worst way, and sadly take it personally. Believe me!! They take it personally! Le sigh…
